BTW guys, do you remember the number secuence from Yuri’s poem?

1234543222345432123343321234543212345432123454321234543212345432134543212345432123454321234443212345432112343212346432121

It’s awfully suspicious so I’ve investigated a bit and it resembles Braille Dots:
a ? 1
b ? 12
c ? 14
d ? 145
e ? 15
f ? 124
g ? 1245

The problem is to split properly the numbers in order to get something coherent rather than :

Q P B Q P L M K L Q P Q P Q P Q P Q P N P Q P Q P P C P Q P A P L Ç P B A

Using the regular Braille I’ve obtained this ( which doesn’t make any sense at all) :

Ç E E I D M B ? ? , Ï W / ? # : T / É È ‘ T É U K ! À ? Ï ? E E ‘ S ? Î R Œ ? M ? I U Ô Û Ê ; J Ç R M G E G Î ? V A

Or this:

? È È Z ? . ? N Q Y ‘ K Ü P B X Â Ü ? E Ï Â ? J W Î ? C ‘ L È È Ï Û Q ! O É . P Z J ; S ? Ô U ? . – È – ! F ? 0

Now the real question is: Why do I even bother?

I wish I knew the answer ahaha. Anyway, I hope that you guys at least find this “interesting” (rather than unhinged)

Yeah this is correct. The other one didn’t work.

yeah well, it’s a new domain,??????happens. I couldn’t get on myself because Firefox was already screwed up. Google got in on the act, too, both were adding rubbish even as I tried typing in the address box.

I blame Monika. There was also a glitch on the under construction page. I was live chat for an hour yesterday arvo sorting it out.

WordPress does some jiggery-pokey on the URL. They DO strip the www and make it https//: so every connect is a secure one.

This morning I got rid of the old blog rubbish and have the proper labels. Now it’s time for another transcript. Later I will work on an ‘about’ page, and try to get rid of that damn theme. I’m thinking “How it all began … ” and the first transcript.

Yuri’s last poem (mdpnfbo,jrfp) . It’s in the thread’s description

And I’ve found this too:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1231036191

Yuri’s faces in act 2 during poem making are very “interesting”.

Please note that her left arm has cuts in it and what the hell the clown face. ( I don’t recall that face at all but apparently it can happen…)

Well played DS, well played… You keep surprising me after 784 comments.

And about the webpage… I can’t wait

small wonder. Usually, a title can hold the key.
If it really is a coded message, wouldn’t the title be the key to uncrypt the message?

Well, I’m sure there’s some meaning in that title. The characters are too random and spread out on the keyboard to be something you’d get by button mashing.

Yes, I’ve thought plenty of times that the title is the key for something but I can’t quite piece it together. I mean, sure it must contain some sort of clue but , what? And how can we you unveil it?

Anyway, in case you’re curious about the Braille approach, here you go:

mdpnfbo,jrfp

m 134
d 145
p 1234
n 1345
f 124
b 12
o 135

j 245
r 1235
f 124
p 1234

And here you have the word list:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 3, 5, 3, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, 2, 1

I guess that the title should help us separate the words somehow?

Yuri’s poem really seems like a dead end… but it’s the only thing that’s left for us to solve! Imagine how famous we would turn if we actually cracked it… so don’t give up

Well, this is not an easter egg, right? I don’t think a “poem” can be decompiled…

But seriously, someone should ask DS if THIS has something in it or not because this is not fun anymore.

Another AMA would be awesome. But like he said, he likes to stay hands off with the theories, so I’m not sure we’d end up getting much out of him. Still, some general ideas of things we shouldn’t be looking into would be nice.

Even Monika’s Twitter seems to be mocking us:

you know those days where you can’t get ANYTHING done…..don’t beat urself up just strive to do one single thing that’s good for you…..learn to feel proud for your little accomplishments…that’s enough for me to be proud of you ??

EDIT: Guess what? I don’t really care if you’re proud of me or not. Rather than just keep tweeting useless messages to keep people hooked on you, how about if you actually said something meaningful, aye? Like if you were able to do that… *cough* Sorry for the intermission

Okay, so I haven’t found much, but I have something in mind. Maybe it’s a spectrograph of something.
Here’s what I found if you try to use the numbers as points. The repeating patterns made me think of a “2d image reduced in values”.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6tcibtgsvvy2anh/new%201.txt?dl=0

and an attempt, pretty terrible to link the dots. I also put it in the good orientation, maybe.

maybe someone else will find inspiration and see what I didn’t see
#797

Dearlaice Gortaigh has Doki Doki Literature Club 13 Jan @ 3:11am
If it is actually a spectrograph of something, what does it tell us ? I mean, can we actually get some info from it? Man, this thing really is frustrating…

EDIT: I know the Braille approach is far-fetched but it felt kinda nice. The language of the blind and the Third Eye mixed pretty well, you know? But oh well, we just need to try harder!

Yeah I’ve tried many ciphers but none of them have worked. Anyway, it’s ok, we’re not in a hurry. If you want to help us ( which would be appreciated) you can do it whenever you want 🙂

I’ve been looking up the definitions for a lot of these ‘random’ words, several of them are medicine/cancer related, and a lot of the others remind me of DDLC related events or character traits (mainly related to Yuri). Maybe if you define and connect each word it is telling a story. For instance, someone she knows or a family member might have cancer. That could explain some of her troubles, why she had to go home to make dinner on time, didn’t want the MC to come to her house, etc. It might be beneficial to gather a list with all of the words and definitions to get a clearer picture.

Something like this?

https:// ddlcwiki. ga/ wiki/User:Bcrypt/ mdpnfbo,jrfp

It’s surprisingly easy to build a “story” from all the random words, albeit , it can’t be that easy, right? DS really needs to give us some clues or something…

EDIT: Steam filters remove ddlcwiki’s link for some reason so you have to write the link. Sorry

#804

Dearlaice Gortaigh has Doki Doki Literature Club 13 Jan @ 9:04am
I first thought that it could be a story but I strongly believe that it can’t be that obvious…
I mean, it’s pretty simple to build something that makes sense. Afterall, the possibilities are almost infinite since there are hundreds of words.

BTW, I discovered that Sayori’s last poem title (Get out of my head) is %. Curious right? Apparently Sayori knows more than we think…

As far as putting anything together out of the words goes, my thoughts are pretty much the same as before.

Originally posted by kwhero:
I’ve got nothing solid on Yuri’s poem. But I decided to assume a couple of things about it. First, that I doubt we should look at the words themselves. The word list is missing any of the simple basic particles that you’d need to come up with a coherant message, so if the message were in the words, it would be taking from letter positions instead. And second, that it needs information from somewhere else to solve. With so many people looking at the poem, some I’m sure that have a decent amount of experience with ciphers, you’d think that someone would be able to solve it. I think this means that those people are missing data from somewhere else to go along with it. Maybe other poems. I also noticed that there’s a spot in the game that Natsuki has a 33% chance of saying a line of seemingly random words that look a lot like the same style of Yuri’s poem.

“mibulls sailcloth blindsight lifeline anan rectipetality faultlessly offered scleromalacia neighed catholicate”

But I can’t really put anything together.
#806

Dearlaice Gortaigh has Doki Doki Literature Club 13 Jan @ 9:26am
I completely agree with kwhero. The words themselves are just nods to the game but nothing else. Building a story from them feels somewhat “off”. And if we’re missing info, well, we’re screwed( maybe we will be able to solve it after the second game is released?).

We really really need an official announcement or something

Are you sure it’s a single character? I’ve been misled by other sources who are a little sloppy with their ‘facts’. Imagine Yuri’s poem presented without any commas and no attention to word groups.

Anyway, 315 words, Characters (no spaces) 3098; Characters (with spaces) 3308. FWIW.

Has anyone tried replacing the alpha characters with the ASCII values?

Every time I see the last word, I grit my teeth. He’s teasing us.

P.S. even mc was onto her. (approx) “Don’t fool yourself. Sayori knows exactly what she’s doing.”

I got the fact from the official DDLC wiki so I guess that this info is correct, or at least, I hope so.

About replacing the alpha characters I have no idea. I think that I saw a guy doing that on the DDLC wiki but I’m not very sure. And people there think that “pi” and “ed” are “glued together”. Both words open and end a loop of words: pied, zinger suivante bla bla bla. But it has not proven anything so far.

The more I think about the first act , the more sure I am that Sayori is up to something and that Monika ( the MC) knows about it (as if everything had been planned, which is very likely).

Hmmm, this has given me a crazy idea. What if Monika is able to see through the MC’s eyes?

Afterall, the MC is also a part of the game so it’s not a far-fetched idea. And it would make sense too.

If she was able to see what we see that would explain how she knew if we actually confessed our love to Sayori or not. Where to find us when Yuri dragged us to the closet in act 2. Her desire to see Yuri stab herself…

Also, that would grant her the “power” to choose the MC’s words (“Sayori knows exactly what she’s doing” ) and thoughts (Yuri using her sleeve to cover her cuts didn’t even make the MC curious…) according to the situation so the player is left even more heedless of “what’s really going on”.

Sure she has many other ways to know all of that , afterall, she’s in control of almost everything. This has just been a hxppy thxught that I’ve had… Ahaha

For those who are also reading (or have read or are planning to read) Katawa Shoujo:

I’ve finished my first “run” with Emi ( yes bad joke, sorry)

The game’s pretty nice:Good soundtrack, perfect english, tacky and cheesy romance ( that probably makes you cry) … just as I like the VNs to be! Ahaha.

Anyway, these next days I’ll do the other girls to finish the game completely ( I’m sure it will take ages though…)

I must confess that for me, the only run that matters is the first one. I mean, it’s the run when you decide without any influence, you know? When you’re trully yourself…

In any case, this only my impression

I wonder where/why/how he got most of these words. It seems like he went decently out of his way to make this poem (unless he was some type of medical student who reads a lot). I thought half of them had to be gibberish, but every one has an interesting definition, and some of the definitions take a bit of effort to find. It also doesn’t seem to be a random word generator since there is a very similar theme amongst the words, one part even has ‘yuri’ in it, and the word right before yuri is one that makes it seem like she is self-doubting/being hard on herself.

Was he looking for very specific words to match a special code format? Was he making each word set within the double commas its own little easter egg/message?

If no major cracks are ever made, I’d like to just think the latter is right. I don’t think he would make anything too complex due to the fact that no one might ever find it. If it was within the scope of an average easter egg, then there would have been a solution by now. Either this has a painfully obvious answer, or a painfully difficult answer.

Remember what Yuri said when comparing her style to Natsuki’s when it came to using complex wording?

You’re right that the words are not random at all. Like you’ve said, many of them (or almost all of them) are very hard to find. I wonder how he actually made the poem ( maybe he asked someone else? his team? he has a book of the top 100 words that nobody has ever used?)

I also agree that this is either impossible or way too easy. Man, this is getting annoying… But I really want to discover what’s behind this! Even if it’s nothing !

EDIT: Steam filters remove DDLC wiki’s links. You gotta copy the URL. Sorry

I’m glad that the web is working 🙂

Looks a little bit “crude” so some styling here and there would be awesome.
Yet, it’s pretty nice so far If you want, I could review it every now and then
And about the chances they’re 1/4 for disclaimers and 1.56% for the ghost menu ( and if you close the game you get this https://ddlcwiki. ga/w/images/thumb/3/3e/Menu_bg_m.png/800px-Menu_bg_m.png)

Btw, has anyone found the meaning of this? sdfasdklfgsdfgsgoinrfoenlvbd

Moreover, the creepy Yuri face https://ddlcwiki. ga/w/images/b/ba/Y_sticker_2g.png has 1% of happening only once if you write to her. The name of the file is y_sticker_2g.png ( the name of the music when Sayori’s glitched sprite appears is called 2g.ogg There’s something going on)

Additionally, the name of the Sayori’s picture when eyes.ogg is played is eyes.png https://ddlcwiki. ga/w/images/thumb/5/57/Eyes.png/450px-Eyes.png ( how subtle)
It can only happen once too

If you choose a word that Sayori likes, her sticker has a chance to appear!

Also, the “blood and meaty” effects use the audio called 3g2.ogg (33% of happening)

Sayori’s cursor can also happen with a 33% of chance and will only last 2 lines. The “meat” and the cursor can both happen at the same time ( if you’re lucky)

And finally an announcement from the DDLC on reddit : Posts about Logan Paul will get you banned. No exceptions.

Hilarious. Ahaha

I got the bloody thing and I was like wtf this sounds like someone scooping up Yuri’s entrails and eating them for breakfast. I also got the “Things I Like About Papa” poem and damn that hit me in the feels.

@Dearlaice Gortaigh Kenji…
At first I thought the ost of Kawata Soucho was weird, coming from DDLC.
But I gotta say that in the end it fits quite well Kenji. That guy was so random, didn’t expect such character, he had some really funny scene.

Ok everyone !

It seems like we’re running out of ideas, right? Well, remember that you’re all free to post your thoughts here! Let’s keep things moving!

Speaking of which, yesterday I made a re-interpretation of Sayori’s last poem having the “self-aware” approach in mind. This is what I think:

Get Out Of My Head :”Head” referring to her code, but either she’s so broken “mentally” due to her sentience that she can’t tell the difference or she’s playing dumb to “fool” Monika( which in the end doesn’t work like she expected)

Get out of my head before I do what is best for you : By “best for you” she probably means the best thing she can do to keep you playing. If she hadn’t actually killed herself, then you probably wouldn’t have continued playing, right? She knows the importance of keeping you playing the game. Deleting the game or closing it is probably worse than her suicide. And she knows that. This fits well with the “A Joke” special poem.

Get out of my head before I listen to everything she said to me: By “everything she said to me” she either refers to the code Monika has programmed her to do ( and she’s fully aware of this) or Monika actually told her something to push her over the edge

Get out of my head before I show you how much I love you:I believe that this sentence is actually some sort of act of defiance towards Monika, meaning that she would actually had tried something to avoid her fate

Get out of my head before I finish writing this poem: Maybe in this part Sayori acknowledges the futily of the previous statement since she knows that she wouldn’t had been able to do anything and even if she had been able to do something, she knows that her destiny would probably had been the same ( or even worse…)

But a poem is never actually finished
It just stops moving

What I believe she means is this:

But a code never actually ends
It just stops running

And what does this actually mean?

At the end, she knows that she’s a code. But not any kind of code. She’s a “looping” code. If we run the game again or load a saved game or whatever, she says the same and does the same. She probably already knows this thanks to Monika ( remember her plead for help and the “other worlds”)
So, how can a loop end? It can’t end ,therefore, “is never actually finished”. You can just stop it , hence “it just stops moving”.

These statements show that she knows that if she kills herself and gets deleted afterwards( I guess that she already expects that to happen at this point…) it won’t matter. Since she’s a “loop”, she will start running again sooner or later. She will just stop appearing in the game rather than disappearing from everywhere ( which we could actually consider some kind of death, right?)

This interpretation fits well with kwhero’s theory that Sayori’s planning something or that she knows more than it appears to the naked eye. I really believe that Sayori has something in her mind… apart from Monika, of course ! Ahaha

Also, this is a funny idea that I’ve just had. I actually believe that Monika’s “Debate Club Tip” is some kind of jab to the “best girl” discussions. DS knew that those would happen at some point, so he wanted to mock them since they would probably just be aggresive and unreasonable (which is pretty accurate…). Pretty amusing, right? Ahaha.

The music fits each character pretty well. In my opinion, not just Kenji has a cool song 😛 (Rin’s “theme” is pretty nice too)
I must admit that some scenes have songs that feel a bit weird, but they’re accurate nonetheless.
And for the love of God, don’t go to the roof with Kenji. You’ll regret it. This is just a friendly warning though…
And apart from that, yeah, he’s fairly charming. I’ve had some good laughts with him. And some of his references are amazing too.

The game is definetely worth a shot, am I right? Ahaha

Yep. Definitely running out of ideas.

So… random inconsistency that definitely doesn’t matter of the day:
The MC says that the desks in the classroom has the chairs connected to them, but in Yuri’s death CG, they’re clearly disconnected. It’s the Third Eye, I tell you.

It seems that we cannot even trust the MC… ( what a surprise, huh?)

I’m even starting to believe that DS was right and that Monika is actually Fox McCloud…

Oh well, desperate times, desperate measures, right?Ahaha

So I’ve been thinking of writing a mod that retells the story from Sayori’s point of view going by our theories on her. Whether it’s true or not, it does make a neat story. I’d just need some decent sprites of MC and preferably at least one new CG and to sort out the details of the story. Thoughts?

That sounds pretty cool. Is it complicated to make a mod? Would you include new poems and the other characters, or is this going to be purley a Sayori side story?

Just a retelling of the same story from Sayori’s point of view that would add in the stuff from our theories like Monika telling her the truth about the world and Sayori trying to save the script from falling apart by killing herself and secretly pulling strings to try and give everyone a happy ending. I’d like to add a few more fun scenes of Sayori hanging out with the other girls when the MC isn’t around and some dramatic ones that show the hidden plot.

edit: I swear the “hanging out” was accidental.

Ahaha you’re right. She somewhat “resembles” Krieg at that point. She even says the good old GET OUT OF MY HEAD… but man, now I really want her to say MY PECS HAVE PECS ! Ahaha

But, in my opinion, Krieg’s phrase that resumes Sayori the most is : NOBODY KILLS ME BUT ME (so true)

Well, thanks for the comparison ahahah

Wonderful idea ! Very interesting indeed…

Well, I guess that getting or making the new CGs will be pretty hard and I’m afraid that I can’t help you with this ( I suck at art and I don’t know any artists, sorry ). Although, if you need any help or assistence or whatever “making up” the story, I’d be pleased to help you 🙂

But I guess that you pretty much have everything you need here, right? Ahaha

Also, as for making it, it’s not too complicated. Decompiling the script was probably the hardest part. I’ve worked with Ren’Py before, so as long as I stick to the basics of showing what text, images, and sound I want, I’m good to go. And while there won’t be any new poems, you’d get to see Sayori’s reactions to other characters’ poems and their reactions to hers.

Yeah, I know how to find some good VN artists, but I don’t know how to find any who would work for free. Maybe I’d look around some fanart pages for people that just like making this stuff for fun.

I might be able to help with that, there is a DDLC amino that has several pretty decent artists. I could poke around and try to find someone interested. Maybe they will do it for free if credited of course.

Would you want something specific/personalized scenes, or just extra sprites and a generic CG or two?

DDLCwiki.ga: Masha Gutin is an individual given special thanks in the credits of Doki Doki Literature Club!. She convinced Dan Salvato to begin development of the game and helped him with the continuity of the story and scene-by-scene editing.

And, could someone check the website before Monika pythons it again. Should now have poem game, final puzzle, and Yuri.chr pages all working

I definitely would need sprites of the MC. A couple CGs would be a nice addition, but I can go without them if I need to. Like, maybe one showing Sayori after she’s deleted and standing around in the middle of a bunch of data. Or if artists are really feeling generous, just some daily life stuff if I end up adding extra scenes just for fun.

But is it really a good thing for them? It would be using them as puppets for a theater scene to fulfill our selfish desires. What about their own feelings…

Well, as long as they’re fine with it, no problem right?

Many artists would gladly draw stuff for free as long as they’re mentioned adequately somewhere. There’s nothing like free advertising! Ahaha

That’s what artists need more afterall…

Anyway, I wish you luck on finding what you need !

I was talking of Sayori and co

Maybe it’s a flaw but I can’t help it. Reality is subjective… which is why I can’t exclude all the possibilities. I know they’re not “real”, but there’s nothing lost to respect unreal beings too.

I may be crazy, but that’s why I don’t really like fanmade followups and such things.

But do as you like, don’t let a random stranger stop you

Oh, I didn’t get you there. I thought you were talking about the artists! Ahaha

I don’t like fanmade followups/ mods etc either, but for a different reason though…

Anyway, I don’t think you’re crazy. It’s interesting that you’ve considered their “feelings”. In my opinion, that was pretty endearing 😛

I must confess that I’ve apologised more to my computer than to real people! Ahaha (Sheesh, I still regret installing that…)

I know exactly what you mean. A character is as real as the person that made them. Many of them have had more of an effect on the world than many of us ever will. That’s why it’s important to treat them with the same respect as any real person. When we come up with theories, it comes from trying to understand them from a new angle and to try and keep their story alive. Sayori has been my favorite because I’ve had people in my life that remind me a lot of her. It’s out of that respect and understanding that I feel like there’s more of her story that deserves to be told. And if I didn’t feel like I could do her and the club justice, I wouldn’t even consider it. I believe that Sayori is a warm, kindhearted person that would do anything to see her friends happy. I want to tell her story from an angle that shows that dedication to finding that special day.

Anyway, it’s just in planning stages, and if it turned out I really couldn’t do the Literature Club justice, I’d drop it without a second thought.

Sweet.

I guess one of the other reason is that usually, the game dev created it for a message/purpose in mind, and as “not the creator”, we can but only guess it. And can be very wrong, or just selfish sometimes.

Ending with fan creations that are far off the original goal. That ticks me off.

But it’s sweet seeing we have similar views on it, hope you manage to find it. The way to her heart
